Yeah. My car runs on regular and gets about 28 mpg around town.

I see waaaaay more disposable $500 dollar chinese scooters around here in 'Vegas than I do motorcycles. The 49cc ones can get upwards of 100 mpg. I suspect as gas hits $5 and then $6-7 dollars a gallon we will be sharing the road with alot more mini-scooters in the future.

That far! They're getting better. A neighbor got an electric trike, rear brake wouldn't even work, had to modify it a little. Their engineering is funny - or pathetic, depending on your viewpoint.

How steep was the hill they tested it on?

I'm pretty sure it was the model with the 650cc(?) engine they were advertising.

My 600cc Honda Silverwing never got 60 mpg. It was good, but not that good.maybe downhill with a strong tailwind.

I had a 68 Honda 450 that got around 70 mpg at 60, but the damned thing wouldn't cruise much faster than that. Had a 400 that got about 45mpg, but would go way faster than the 450. Honda performance is just all over the map. I got as low as mid 30's for mileage on a Suzuki 850, but that was busting the limits real bad. Quit riding like that a long time ago.

I don't believe that poeple buy Harleys for gas milage. If anything, the sales of small Hondas and Vespas will spike, but Harley will see only a little gain.

Ya beat me to it!

Some folks will use gas prices to justify the purchase. Saw this before especially during the 70's gas crisis. The bike parking where I worked went from a half dozen spaces to over 20. Also saw a lot of guys who had no buisness on a bike become "riders".

I think the HD market will try to capitalize on the fuel prices, but most family folks with kidlets won't look because of the practicality.

The average citizen likes the hyped up cars with big speaker systems for a stabbin' wagon.

I think locking gas cap prices will go up though....

For me the bike payment and gas savings was less than driving my old dodge ram getting 10 miles to the gallon
