I would think a minimum of a 16'er for enclosed. You can stagger bikes one and two, but number three is going to be directly behind number one, so add the lengths of the two shortest bikes, and add a few inches front and back of the first and third bikes, and 6-12" in between bikes one and three (for a wheel chock or whatever you use), and you should be good. I'd ALWAYS go with an enclosed trailer if you can manage it financially.

a 7x16 V nose with E track down both sides and in the center would work well. stagger bikes left and right up front and one in the center rear.

If you go with an enclosed, I agree with Jeff, that is the safest bet. However if you go with open, you have a bit more room to play with since the bars can hang over the edge. If possible, it would be best to get all three bikes down to the trailer place. You can try placing them in different arrangement to see if one will fit. Try placing the road king and softtail close to the rails, and the Sportster in between them, butt first. Depending on if you have bags, will dictate how far the Sportster can go. Also try putting them in diagonally, with the Sportster being the smallest going in last.

7 X 16 with a V nose should have enough room. I have one and it holds two plus equipment without a problem. Three or four bikes could fit but would be tight.

My 7 x 16 is set up for mobile servicing but with a little muscle the lift comes out and I've had a RK, Ultra and a Deluxe in it.
