I started riding again after a few years off at age 61. My father in law saw the bike and said, "If I was young like you I'd get a bike too." He was 85 at the time. I felt a little bad for him but... he could have had a bike when he was younger and chose not to. There are some things in life you'll miss out on if you put them off.
A friend of mine has 80,000 miles on a softtail, another has a Honda Shadow 1100 but his wife is making him sell it this spring. I guess we all have to do what works for us.
Yea, I've heard it. Till they say, Whats one cost? cause I've got $3-4 K put back to buy one.
That kind of money buys a decent metric. Tell em to get shopping.
My old lady hated my bikes til I let her ride one. Now I got her her own. She loves it. We go on day trips pretty much every weekend and she only drives the van when she needs too(groceries etc). The bike has saved me a formerly huge fuel bill between both of us commuting on our bikes.
I dont have friends... I have convinced two people I work with to get bikes. Iv also been fortunate enough to meet some great guys around my area that all ride(soon to be brothers hopefully). Maybe Ill have friends one day but until then Ill just ride and it doesnt matter who is around.
all of my closest and oldest friends don't have the skills to ride a bike, let alone afford one right now.
little to say, i've got one buddy to ride with, but i'm alway looking out for more...
I really do bad that express interest in riding but just won't pull the trigger for one reason or another. I can put myself in the shoes just for second. I remember before I started riding. I always thought It would be cool to ride one but just wasnt sure if I wanted to waste the money on a bike. Hahahahaha. Looking back I was crazy. I've got more money and time tied up in my bike and riding than I'd admit to anyone that didn't ride/understand, and I'm sure you all do. I can't even imagine life without a running bike in
My garage. I cringe at the fact some day I'll be old or frail to ride. My family/friends are going to have to pry my cold dead hands off of the handlebars as I'll be full throttle till the day I die. It's in my blood, in my soul, and it's my passion. I have other hobbies, but they are just that, hobbies. Riding for me is a way of life, life is a way to ride. Can't see how people get though life any other way.
