I just installed a new clutch pack on a 01 RK with a sidecar. The kit is a BDL made by energy one with a extra friction plate. Everything came out fine and when I installed the new plates they did not have a narrow friction disk so I installed the oem disk then alternated steel and friction as per service manual. When I got to the end of the hub I had 1 extra friction pulled them out checked everything reinstalled and same thing 1 extra friction, so I figured it was the narrow friction that the manual said went in first is why I had extra. Buttoned it up and adjusted the clutch 4 times now and I cannot get the clutch to fully disengage . I used redline primary oil but I run it in all my bikes. Any ideas first why I've got the extra disk and why it won't adjust? Thanks Rick
Yeah senior I went to their site and found out not to use any oem stuff. Wish they would have noted that in their instructions. Any way it's out and will reinstall tomorrow.
How about measuring the thickness of the stock plates stacked and the new stack.
I would assume the old pack might be a little thinner. At least the old thickness would give you a reference.Just a random thought.
Have any dial calipers or a mic,or place the stacks on a flat surface and use a straight edge to compare.
