Have not ridden in about 10 years. Got a new 2011 Fatboy Lo last weekend but due to weather in SoCal this weekend I have only ridden it twice. It poured Sat and today just enough to stay wet. I went the better safe than sorry route to practice but I am really itching to ride. Oh and this is my first HD. This place is keeping me sane on the wet weekend.
Well, don't know about the OP, but to me handling a bike isn't something that you forget in 10 years, or ever for that matter. It's like riding a bike, oh ****, don't believe I said that..haha You never foget, maybe get a little rusty, but forget..never going to happen!
While posting this, I got the long wait, so I figured it would be a double post, but this time the system caught it, and gave a double post error, have some new improvements been made lately? First time I got that error, usually it's just double posts, when it times out like that.
Yea I agree dry rides only for a while. I rode a Honda shadow way back when I could not afford a HD. Now I finally got it and am enjoying it. As soon as it's dry I am making it my primary vehicle.
You sound smart to me get some miles in on nice days and become familiar with the bike and riding again. Depending on what you rode in the past you might have to learn a lot or it will be the same as before. Of course you could just get right at it and start riding in the rain on your new bike after ten years of not riding, might as well practice braking in the rain while you're at it.
