If it weren't for.......Free Healthcare, high paying jobs, low cost of living, above standard education, and the fact that I have family here well I'd consider it, but it would only be for the warmer weather and year round riding. Southern CA or nothing. Have friends who live in the San Diego area and it is very nice there, but you pay through the nose for housing, and mine or my wifes jobs would pay less there than they do here.
Maybe if I win the $50 million on Friday I'll start looking.

I grew up in Canada but live in Florida now and to say health care in Canada is free is absolute BS!!!
Skidlid. You are looking at two extremes going from Saskatchewan to California.
I moved here from Ontario to Ohio and my wages are better and my cost of living is about half.
I won't go into details but the health care here is better, even for someone without ins. but will say this:
I have a friend who had a stroke while in SD with zero health ins. and received better treatment than my brother in Ontario got.
I have a sister who is an RN in Canada for 30yrs and is amazed at the quality treatment here.

Our 'free' health care costs us $5.00gal for gas, $40.00 case of beer, 13% sales tax...
Ummm. I'm sure I read 4 or 5 threads a day about tge American economy being in the toilet, people are losing their jobs, homes etc.
Sure. We have high taxes, paid for health care, close to a socialist government but the employment rate is pretty high, most Canadians are working.
I agree that the cost of living is less in America however that could be relative to the lack of high paying jobs and Americans just being out of decent paying work.
Now we can go on all day about how much it sucks to live in Canada but unless you live here it's pretty much heresay.
I lived in Detroit for 6 years before the market tanked. It was great, but it wasn't my home.
We all know America will return again to all it's past glory but right at this moment the nation is teetering on the edge.
Cost of living in America is cheaper, look at housing prices, but try to get a mortgage. Look at the fantastic jobs that are out there, but 2000 other people also sent resume's too. It's all relative guys and gals.
So let's keep the chirping about Canada to a minimum, because in all honesty it's not all that great in the land of the free right now either.
I'm not slamming USA at all lived in Michigan for 4 years, I'm not talking about all of Canada either, I am talking about SK, and the City I live in, and I have a low cost of living as compared to the place I mentioned (California and Greater SD area), we have a fantastic health region, and High schools and Univ in SK have some of the best programs in the country. This isn't about who's better or worse, just what works for me. I love living here, but hate the weather for 5 months of the year. Much love to USA and Canada alike.
