Unless it's a retractable eye shield I don't do full face shield. Can't ride with it up. Goggle can be removed and stored in the fork bag. And ya, I've got a pair of goggles that go over my glasses. don't know the name.
A visor gives you more protection from the elements, road debris, bugs, etc., more crash protection and you can switch out a tinted and clear visor as the conditions warrant. It also does not sit on your face so is cooler in hot weather. You can also easily raise it and lower it while riding. Goggles look cooler for some people.
I've got a pair of these that go over my Rockhard American Classic which also has a goggle strap. Thy fit over prescription glasses and come with both a clear and a smoked lens. Not cheap but very high quality.
I ride with windshield, usually, and am not a fan of a helmet face shield.
