Default 2012 models

Well after our financial crash last yr and having to sell our 08 ultra. we are now back and track and going to look at some Harleys tomorrow.

Were leaning towards a Road King or another Ultra in the 2012 model.

Since I have been out of the loop for a bit whats the input been on these 2012s with 103 being standard in them now?

I see on HD's webpage they claim 100 ft lbs torque, is that at the wheel yet or still at the motor?

Any input would be appreciated as were buying something tomorrow

Well I have a 2012 and upgraded from a 2010. The 103 motor pulls very well. The seat of the pants dyno says it is better that the older 96. I can tell you that I have never met a hill where I had to down shift while cruising. Previously there were some hills that our old bike could not hold 75 on with the cruise control on. Other than the motor, pretty much the same bike. My wife does say that the seat on the new models is much more comfortable.

Not going to rip your arms off, but good consistent power band.

I rode a 12 ultra limited yesterday and holy cow! I was supprised how much more it had than my 04 with 95" kit and true duals.

I was also supprised how much nicer the new frame is. I always just write it off when I read about the post 09 frame and how much better it is than pre 09 but wow what a difference!

My 2011 RGU came standard with 103.
I like it two up the torque is better. While I am not one for moding my engines anymore, I did add the ventilator AC because I wanted the room for my knee. I had the dealer do the 110 street legal download on it just to be safe and add a bit of fuel .
The difference that download made is amazing. I had put 20K on the bike so I know how it felt and ran that download made it act like a different engine.
The 103 will really run great with a basic stage 1 and a bit of fuel.

Smitty, Im getting where you are I think in that I really don't want to mess with anything anymore either. I don't know if its cause im older or just don't want to have to argue to get work done under warranty if needed or a bit of both.

But let me make sure I got this right. I know a 110 takes more fuel than a 103. So you upgraded to a stage 1 air cleaner and then the flashed it with a stock 110 program?

They didn't give any guff or anything? Air fuel mix is good with that combo not to rich? Whats your gas mileage with it set up that way?

OH What dealer did this ??? Just incase I go the same route

Sorry for all the questions LOL
