Got 1200 on the new Ultra but still have the old 08 Electra glide. I took the old one out for a final warm up and stabilizer in the gas before putting it away for the winter.
First thing I noticed was how unstable it felt. Don't know how to describe it but the whole bike just felt weird and heavy.
I don't know how many decades Harley made this frame but I have to give a big thank you to the designers of the 14 models! Everything about the new style is a HUGE improvement over the 08 and down dinosaurs.
Last thing that surprised the heck out of me was the power increase of the 103 in comparison to the 96, well there is no comparison, the 103 will flat out destroy the 96 and I used to think the 96 was fast. Cant imagine what coming off the 88 motor would be like, probably something like coming off an old Camero to a new Vette.
Loving it, just wish it ran a little cooler in comparison to the 96.
Test road the 2014 ultra at York open house, it was really impressive and comfortable, I couldn't wait to get off the bike, cause I was getting that itch to get one... Crazy!
Lmao i love my 2001 ultra,,, put 5000 miles on it july & august and never once felt the bike was unstable or a dinosour. i also rode two up pulling a trailer from michigan to sturgis and back without an issue......not a damn thing wrong with the old bikes, they will get you to where you want to go,!
Congrats on the New scoot, Harley improved the bikes with every year if I had the coin I would defiantly be looking at 2015 and up. For now I'm completely satisfied with my old dinosaur haven't stopped enjoying every minute/miles on my beach, since I already have the Vette.
