2001 nighttrain running ruff
Hey guys I need some advice. I have a 2001 night train I parked it for the winter and left the gas in it and now is running ruff. I drained the gas put new plugs in it and when I take it down the road it runs but once I hit a certain rpm it boggeds down on me and goes to stall out.

You can post this sort of problem here or on the Softail forum probably doesn't matter which, I had a similar problem years ago on a Brit bike and it was crap in the tank a bit of rust or something every so often when I accelerated it would get sucked down to the bottom of the tank and the bike would nearly stall, as I recall it eventually got sucked out and the bike ran fine after that, could be your problem as well.

If you didn't treat the gas with stabil before it sat for the winter or run the engine with the fuel turned off to drain the bowl on the carb, then ya you got problems. The gas probably went bad. Drain the gas out off the tank (or siphon it ) put in some fresh premium (a gal. or two). Add some Seafoam. Then go for a short ride, long enough to burn a gallon. Change the plugs fill up the tank and see how it runs, just may have to take the carb off and clean it out if it's still stumbles. My 02 stumbled a little after the long sleep but it running just fined now.
