Thanks again for the info. My husband wants to take the class too but I'm going to do this one on my own. I have a hard time understanding why some people think the slow moves aren't real life. I'm in a parking lot every day with my bike. Anyway I'll make sure to post an after action report! I'm excited to take the class. A little nervous too!

I interpreted some posts on this thread to mean that that it is likely that one will drop their bike and damage it during this class while making low speed turns while weaving through cones. Reading about a a guy laughing off picking up parts or wrapping a bike to protect it to learn a skill sounded odd to me.

I make low speed turns all the time through parking lots and garages. Doing it so slow that I am about to drop my bike never crosses my mind. I guess I am living with dumb luck or I already have the skills of a little girl and I can manage the bike that I am on.

No,I haven't taken the Ride like a Pro class! I haven't taken any riding classes in 50 years of riding! I did watch one of the DVD's a few years back and probably picked up a few pointers! I think we all have room to learn no matter how good you think you are!
If giving a riding class or taking a riding class, saves one life,I figure it's a good thing!

Big Lebowski, Go to a police motor rodeo or motor officer graduation. Then you can learn what you don't know. I have a bias here because I'm a retired sergeant. As to the practice, every time I come back from a ride I go to a nearby parking lot and practice a few circles and eights.

Think about accidents. Most bikes are laid down while parking, zero to 5 MPH. Then some more, most intersection types, at slow speed say 15-30 MPH. The very few that are high speed are single vehicle accidents were the rider overrode his ability in a corner.

Luck favors a prepared, trained rider.
