I paid $250 for both tires, not WWW and did the labor myself.
I started doing my own years ago because it cost 30-50% of what it cost to have a shop do them.
$699 is a lot of cash for 2 tires, but I bet it is in the ballpark for other shops in your area..

I checked my local HD and got a price quote it was $749.00 that was for front and back tires labor and tubes, wheel weights. I checked on line and there was a big difference between online and HD dealer? I think you can guess who was cheaper

Always get a quote in writing before the work is done. If they won't do that, walk away.

When comparing internet pricing don't forget to add in the freight. My guess is it's $25-$30 per tire for UPS. What about convience, what's that worth? All you had to do was take your bike in and pick it up, you didn't have to spend time on the internet finding a good price. You didn't need to worry about who might steal your info when you shop online. You didn't have to worry about returns, which are a pain when buying on the internet. When I buy something major I want value for my money, how much am I paying and what am I getting. Sometimes the cheapest price isn't the best value. On the other hand, I totally agree that's a lot of money for tires.

At that point I told him that I will need a couple of new tires in the spring. Last week I brought the bike in for the tires. Figureing I had promised and it's good to support a local shop.
Didn't shop around for prices. Saturday he installed two new whitewalls on my 07 Road King. Cost was $699.00. I questioned this because most of this cost was the price of the Dunlop WW. This guy says the cost of tires have risen considerably over this last year.
Went on line and found Dennis Kirk and JP prices were half of what I was charged.
That sounds high. Was this shop in Berwick? There's one by my house and another in Hazleton I deal with.
BTW Hello from the other side of the nuke plant
