Default Bullet Fairing

I want to take off my windshield cause I dont like looking threw it and I think if I cut it down then it wont do anything. Has anyone used one of these? What kind of protection do they provide?
Thanks

I've never used a bullet fairing, but your windshield looks tall. Conventional wisdom is that the top of the windshield should be the height of your nose. You will see the road over it. You might as well cut it if your other option is to replace it with a fairing.

I'm with HOLLOWPOINT on this, the right height makes a difference.

I am short, and was looking through the old screen that was on my old FLHS, and I was not wild about it.
However due to lots of wear/scratches I was in need of a new shield and after making some measurements I decided that one three inches shorter should give me what I was looking for.

Big difference, make sure that yours fits, and if you are going to replace it anyway put some blue painters tape on that screen mark a line with a sharpie, and cut with a fine tooth blade on a jig saw then file/sand it smooth and try it. You may decide that the old cut down shorter screen is fine.

Have you ever ridden without a windshield? you might like it...

not trying to be a dick its just that I went thru that crap with my Fatboy a few years ago...thought i wanted a shield blah blah tried all kinds of crap tall, short etc....turns out the clean air hitting me was WAY more comfortable than all the freakin buffeting that most windshields seem to create...

good luck..

Too tall a windshield creates that buffeting. It's some kind of physics thing all I know is that with it cut down there is less turbulance and even my freakin hats stay on.
