My Lo with solid wheels feels as stable in a crosswind as all the spoked wheel bikes I have owned.

It's a myth as far as I'm concerned. I had a 2008 Fat Boy and there was no noticable difference between it, my 07 Super Glide, and my current FLHX.

Crosswinds and semi's always got my attention riding with a solid front wheel. The front end was like a sail at highway speeds. Sudden gusts in open areas over 20mph were lane changers and semi's wanted to suck you in behind the cab wheels. The swap to a custom wheel made the ride handle much better for me.

My Night Train with solid rear wheel has much less issues in the wind than my Ultra.

My Road King has factory solids, are there really is NO DIFFERENCE between the way it handles crosswind & a RK with spokes. I'm very satisfied with the way it rides with the solids.

For bikes with hardbags, only the front rim would be an issue anyway. The rear is blocked 95% by the bags.

A bigger issue in the question of solids vs. spokes would be the ease of cleaning & polishing.

same thing for me on my 2000 Fat Boy. Cross wind gust from under a tractor trailer on a sweeping right turn pushed me to the left about 3 ft. Never had anything happen in a cross wind like that before, it's not a myth.

It is definitely NOT a myth. When I ride my '04 Fat across the Bayside bridge here in Clearwater, I get blown around like a feather in a hurricane. I have been riding this bridge through about 10 different Harleys, and the Fattus is the only one that gets tossed like that, even moreso than my lighter Dynas. Never liked the solids;especially the way they look.

You people with Los & newer Fattys have HOLES drilled in the wheels; you won't notice this.
