Sorry for your friends....life is fragile...none of us will get out alive. After coming close to death several times I have come to the conclusion that there is no conclusion and God decides who lives and how long. RIP to your friend though.
Loosing friends is always tough. Lost more than a few over the yrs. It's always hard. I usually have a few drinks in their memory and move on. At least they were riding.
Hey Shagster, since you are a Christian(me too) you must know that death is not something God intended for us at the outset. That's why it's not something that we're able to accept easily. We are all going to die sometime from something... It sucks... but they were doing something pleasurable right up till the end. My condolences.
While returning from Bike Week at the Outter Banks some folks we know were in an accident and one of them (the couple were on the bike together) was killed. Guess it's always a little unsettling? They were good people who didn't drink or do stupid stuff. Don't yet know what happened. How do you cope when this happens?
Last year I should have been killed... it takes a toll on you.. so many damn things run thur your head, why am I still here, why in the sam blue blazes did she run me over at a stop sign and so on.. anything around either dying or near death, messes with ya, even if it isn't you.. just take it one day at a time.. at least that is what is helping me.. (even tho there are those days, where you're just plain messed up in the head)
First of all, I am sorry to hear of the passing of your friends. It is a very difficult thing to deal with.
I lost a close friend in a motorcycle accident back in 2007, I took it pretty hard and stopped riding, just couldnt bring myself to get back on the bike. It sat in the garage unused for nearly 3 years. Finally one day I just said to hell with it and i got back on it and went riding. I am glad that I got back riding again as it is what i love to do most in this world. I look back at all of the stupid s**t that me and my buddy used to do on our bikes and just shake my head. The one thing that i take away from this tragic experience is that i am know a more cautious/safer rider.
Death is something that happens to everyone at one time or another. It totally sucks and there's nothing we can do about it
That's why you have to love the ones that are still with and around you, remember the ones you've lost, and always keep moving forward, for time stops for no man.
Sorry for your loss... prayers to your friends.
I have lost 4 buds in Bike accidents but that's over more than 40 years.
It's always a hard thing to deal with... I usually ride alot more carefully for about a month after....

Southpaw Super Glide: A Left-Hand-Drive 1979 Harley FXE Built to Fit the Rider
Just found out it was a freak accident! The bike "driver" (who survived the accident with only minor injuries) felt lightheaded and was trying to stop. At 25 mph he blacked out. The next thing he remembered was waking up in the woods. His girlfriend (a passenger) was killed! What a tragic thing! It was truly God's time for her to be called up. He broke some ribs and got bruised but otherwise seems okay. No word on why he blacked out.
Sorry - don't believe in "gods time". Did he put the drunk on the road that killed my friend?
If the god stuff works for ya - good for you! I've seen to much bad **** to believe in ghosts and stories spun a thousand times. Between being a M/Cist and a ghetto F/F who has lost many friends I just believe in being prepaired when the excrement hits the air handling device.
