Default Just heard some folks we know were killed....

While returning from Bike Week at the Outter Banks some folks we know were in an accident and one of them (the couple were on the bike together) was killed. Guess it's always a little unsettling? They were good people who didn't drink or do stupid stuff. Don't yet know what happened. How do you cope when this happens?

I guess each person copes with death in their own way. Think how they would have wanted you to deal with a sad thing like this. Thoughts and prayers to all.

Sorry to hear that. You just have to accept that no matter how safe you play it, if it's your time to go, nothing is gonna change that. I have lost four friends on bikes over the years, 3 of them doing dumb stuff, and one just totally random accident. No matter what the circumstances it never makes it any easier.

One of my best friends was killed right in front of me while riding! That was in 1964! I swore I would never ride again! Within 2 weeks I was back at it! That was about 18 or 20 bikes ago! It's unsettling but you have to get on with living and do what you enjoy!

Bad news, but what are you going to do? Crawl into a box and let life pass you by? I know someone who was killed crossing the road, life is fragile and easily lost to any number of diverse things.

I am sure they would want you and all their rideing friends to keep rideing. I prayed that my accident wouldnot deture my friends from rideing. Take your time and get your comfort level back you will honor your friends with every mile.

I just deal with it. I personally try to learn what happened and save that knowledge for survival.

Sorry for you loss, but remember, "Mors certa est, sed vita non est". Death is certain, but life is not. When it's up, it's up.
