Thanks everybody for your responses. I have ordered the Go Pro Hero motorsports. I found it online for $175.00. I think it will work just fine for what I'm looking to do.
Where did you find the motorsports for $179.oo? The cheapest I have found it was for $299.00
The mounts for the Go Pro allow me to use the suction cup on any smooth surface the size of my fist, I have the handlebar kit which attaches to any tube .75-1.45" (that includes my bike bars and crash bar) It also comes with sticky mounts that allow you to mount the camera to anything that you can think of at any angle. The camera shoots in the following resolutions- 1080P, 960P, 720P and WVGA. Frame speeds are 30-48-60-120 per/second. Awsome for super slow motion. It also shoots 11mp pictures in bursts of 10 shots/second. You also have 3 FOV of 90-127-170 degrees. I like the 127 degrees as it dosnt fish eye as bad as wide but still gives a super clear shot.
Like I said the video is 100x better then the SD WIDE go pro and they claim twice as good in everyway as the HD Hero Go Pro. For all you get in theHERO II Motorsports package you cant beat it.

Just thought I'd mention, if you are looking for a camera mount, this one is extremely flexible (shoot behind you even): http://www.leadermotorcycle.com/CTGY/cameras.html
It works with any camera that is tripod ready - for the Go Pro you'd need to have their "adapter plate" (to go from their design to tripod) which is about $9 I think.
They look like a clone of the RAM system if you ask me, just with less options for mounting.

Friend of mine lets me borrow his GoPro Hero 2 any time I want. Mounted atop my helmet as far back as possible & still see over it. You can just see it at the bottom of the screen on play-back. Using std wide setting (wide but not door-**** wide). Video play-back is awesome but the wind noise sucks beyond belief from about 35mph and up. Doesn't seem to matter what I do. I think an external mic tucked somewhere out of the wind could be the answer.
Just a $99 Kodak ZX5, Velcro'd into the chin bar of my Modular Helmet
It's cheap, I can use this small HD 1080P camera to record other things, its waterproof and shock proof so I often take it to the beach/fishing so its a multi-tasker.
I put some sticky velcro pads on the inside of the chin bar and on the front of the camera to hold it in place. To get the camera pointing up at the right angle looking down the road vs at the street you need to put a doubled up second thin strip of velcro tape at the top of the camera so it is leaning back a bit.

I have a Cisco Flip video. Pretty neat device. I'm having trouble finding some editing software. The Microsoft Movie Maker stuff is giving me errors. Suggestions appreciated.
