If they don't notice a 8 foot long 700 pound red and chrome chopper with a 100 watt head light and 2 1/4 open pipes what in the world makes you think they going to notice a couple of dim 15 watt yellow bulbs.
federal law has required signals since early 70's.. i always heard they had to work if they were on the bike, but not required to be on there..i looked it up and i was wrong.. i know in ohio, if signals were an option, they were required since about 1966. im sure most states have real close to the same laws
When you're riding with out signals you've got to be on the ball. If some one's coming at ya and you don't think you can make the turn with out worrying about them seeing that you're going to turn then wait till they've gone by, the worst thing to do is to believe any body else on the road is going to know what you're going to do. It doesn't matter if you're running turn signals or not, Ive seen a car pull right in to a semi that had enough lights on it to light the Vegas strip and then say they never saw it. When you're slowing to make a corner you should be pumping those brakes any one coming from behind will take notice that flashing red brake a lot faster then they will ever see you're turn signals. You've just got always ride like no one else out their can see ya don't matter if you're on a stripped down chopper or a bagger .

I do think the law is the same here but in over 40 years Ive never seen or heard of anyone being pulled or ticketed for it.
So many people complaining about not being seen by cages and then we have stuff like this. I would think you would want the cages to see that you are getting ready to turn but thats just my $0.02.
Yea, why would you want the other drivers to kow when you were changling lanes, turning etc.? Come to think of it, get rid of the brake light while you're at it!
Been riding, not trailering, for 36 years. First ting I've done when buying my bikes is removing the turn signals. Never and I mean never have I been pulled over and or ticketed for lack of turn signals. Been all over the USA.
There bad because the guy i bought the bike from for one thing didnt wire them right and there just marker lights not blinkers. When there on they dont even blink. I want to take them off because one doesn't work and i can get a ticket for that. Just wanted to take them off till i got new ones
