I'll see you driving in on Friday, and out on Monday...I'm a little too green to handle an hour plus of slow clutch control riding.
Though my goal is to hit next year, with more experience under my belt...
Good judgment! What concerns me about rides like this are the guys who buy a bike and think riding in close quarters like this sounds fun, without thinking about the technical difficulty.
Just tell your buddies who still have to kick start their cycles that when it's your time to move out you better be started...My buddy made a lot of ppl mad last year when his bike wouldn't turn over in the Pentagon lot. This year he's taking his Street Glide per my request.
Hell no. I support our troops and our vets, I just don't want to be sardined into the Pentagon parking lot with a bike that gets hot as ***** when it's idling and creeping at a super slow speed. I'll be headed west into the mountains on that day.

What he said. Minus the "headed west" part, though that does sound fun.
I'm glad yours doesn't, but after my last experience of stop and go traffic through the harbor tunnel and almost having to pull over to let the bike cool down, I'm not about to try that again.
WTF does your ride through Baltimore have to do with Rolling Thunder?
I've attended RT the past 5 years - leaving home/getting to the Pentagon parking lot around the same time all 5 years.
Flyover at noon to signal the start of the ride.
I fire up the bike between 1:00 - 1:15 to roll out.
5 minutes to get out of the parking lot
20 minutes to loop around the mall
10 minutes to get to the GW Pkwy
an hour ride home.
If it were as bad as you & other made it out to be, do ya really think there's still be 100's of thousands coming in from all over the country to attend?
This will be my 5th ride...Leaving from Patriot H-D in Fairfax, 25 min. from my house. Yes, it can be hot and uncomfortable at times, but, so what. Being in combat and being a POW are a lot worse. Just saying.

Honestly, yes.
It's all about "image" out in this crap hole. "Look at me and my big bad Harley!" Weekend warriors decked out in Harley gear trying to play the part (at least from what I've seen).
And for 35 minutes of ride time in a run, sounds kind of like a joke to me. If I wanted a 35 minute ride, I'd ride to work every day like I do, not having to wait and poke around for the newbie that can't drive in a parking lot without dropping his/her feet.

Just my .
If you're doing Rolling Thunder for the thrill of the ride, you're there for the wrong reason to begin with, IMO.
