05 Super glide. This is my first bike. Was looking for alternatives to cleaning and painting my engine. I have seen the newer engines have black and silver fins and whatnot. Can i do this myself? Also, there seems to be slight corrosion(not rust) on the engine, rims, and other metal parts of the bike. Any cheap and easy way to clean it up? Should i just buy new cylinders? Is it possible to swap from a 88 ci to a 96 ci onto my year and model bike? On a budget too. Sorry for all the questions. I am very excited.
Nevr-dull cotton wadding will work wonders on the corrosion (which BTW is rust, AKA oxidation).
I believe the kit for your engine will take it to 95CI, and you should be able to get black with silver fins.
Another option is that you can paint the engine with BBQ grill paint (heat resistant) and then sand the edges of the fins to get the silver. In my opinion this takes a lot of prep work to do a good job.

Do more research. My 99 had a black with silver engine. It's not new. Look at some of the CVO motors and you'll find all different colors and combos.
No matter what you've got, you seem to want something else. Human nature.
