I gotta thank my dealer for turning me on and letting me take a Street Bob demonstrator out while they were servicing my bike earlier this fall. It had an ugly HD shield on it, but man, was it a nice ride.
I had to have something on my bike...
I found the perfect windshield, one that did the job, and looked pretty sexy on the bike also.
I just mounted my Windvest 14 x 14 on my rig, and set off for a beautiful 55 degree ride here in Buffalo NY.
How on Earth did I ever ride without one...
I always had problems with my helmet blowing backwards and my eyes watering, but I can just about play solitare on my gas tank going down the Interstate...
Guys, if you were anti-windshield like I was, try it, you'll like it!
Since ANY ride for me is 20-30 miles to anything,........ thu country roads with softball size bugs...
Mine rarely comes off anymore !
( Good to see that expensive Quik-Releases hardware earn its keep once in awhile....)
Used to hate them..... but my riding time has become more enjoyable since having one so ...
I recently sold a sporty with billet aluminum handle grips! Here is Seattle area I ride any chance I can as long as it is not raining. Including when it hits the 30's! Talk about freezing my nuts off! I just bought a Heritage! Windshield AND ruber hand grips! Holly cow! I can get to work and still feel my fingers! My chest is NOT frozen solid!
Yep! I believe in the windshield too! Sure I'll take it off to look cool from time to time but I tell ya, I have NO reason to take it off except vanity! 1 bee in the chest at 60+ mph makes me really respect them bug splotches on the windshield!
every morning I see macho knuckle drager riders going to work no shield sometimes only a vest love my windshield and can't and don't want to remember the good old days when I thought they sucked . do wish I had the quick release mount ..
Around town in summer, I take the WS off, but during the winter it stays on.
I also run with it for long trips, as mentioned, it really makes the miles go by easier.
