Cheers guys on your suggestions, have found somewhere to rent a RK for a couple of days, just got to decide if I want to pay $550 for the privilege!
However, all the bar options look great, especially as i can put it down as 'expenses'
Think I might enjoy this trip
Krazy8s mentioned Deus Ex Mechina, if you're into these types of bikes it's really worth a look. They made a bike for Charley Booreman and featured in one of his shows. They have a great cafe there too. Here's the link if you wanna check out their bikes...http://au.deuscustoms.com/motorcycles/
You can do a great round trip from Sydney that will take in some highlands and coastal roads to do this trip but you would need 2-3 days for a round trip from Sydney (which you probably don;t have) to really enjoy the ride
- Google "putty road", just to Sydney's west in Blue Mtns territory.
- Take the coastal road south from Hellensburg to Wollongong, down through Stanwell tops to Thirroull.
- if you take putty road north for the day you can loop through McQuarrie Pass to the central coast and back to Sydney.
Feel free to send a message for more info. Bloody Poms

Putty Road, Wow, forgotten all about that ride! Man I need to get back home more often!
Hellensbug, Kiama, Nowra, Jervis Bay area are all good trips as mentioned.
Kiama is on my short list to settle in when I return home, eventually. Beautiful area.
