I'll have to double check the mileage. We have a summer cottage in Pakers Cove Nova Scotia. The wife and kids spend much of the summer there and I try to make two trips up during the summer between jobs. Its 14 hours when I ride straight through in good weather. Its a few miles.......The Street Glide Makes it a very pleasant trip.

Last year, 786 miles 14 hours 35 mins from Canton Ga to Winnsborro Tx. Stopped only for breakfast and fuel on the RK in my sig.
anything that is a 'minor' irritant on a short ride is chinese water torture on a longer ride. and even some things that you don't even notice will become a major pita on a long ride.

doing some shorter rides before hand will help to bring those areas out so you can take care of them before hand.

Ruidoso, New Mexico to Houston, Tx 857.6 miles in 14 and a half hours. Stopping around every two hours for fuel and water. Got to love those 80 mph speed limits in west Texas. I was running ahead of a front that was bringing flooding rains to the entire state.

Lindale, TX interstate 20 exit 556 to Jasper, GA. All interstate- 748 mls. 09 flstc.
11 hrs 20 minutes. 4 gas stops with grabbing a drink, snack and bathroom, one with a 20 minute burger stop.
Averaged around 70 mph at 10.5 hrs moving. Not a fast trip, right lanes most of the way with the middle of the speed traffic.
You should have no problem with the same amount of time.

I did 1100 miles in 1 day. Daytona Florida to Columbia Missouri. Left at 7:30 A.M stopped at midnight. gas stops and 1 lunch break. I was hurting. I was on a Softail. I would not reccommend it. And, I was hauling ***. averaged 85-90 MPH.

Just rode back to Al Bu Ker Key from Kingman, AZ from Laughlin. 490 miles all on Interstate 40 (boring). Running about 75~80mph all the way but with gas stops (2) and whatever, I probably averaged about 50mph....about 10 hours total. Was not bearing down though.

buddy and i just did lansing, mich to nashville, tn in 10 hours, 552 miles...

we stopped every 100 miles (because his tank was a lot smalle and could go max 110) and in my honest opinion that was was the perfect amount of time on the bike. we would fuel up and walk around a bit, maybe 5 minutes at one stop, 10 at the next, that also included a full lunch stop.

like others said, hydrate, crank the music or listen to the pipes and enjoy...we did all interstate, would have enjoyed back roads didnt have the time.

when are you going though? because looks like half of 65 through ind and ky are going to be under contruction based on the amount of barrels we saw.

Wow lots of great info here. Thanks to everyone for the help. If things work out I'm going in early July from just outside Nashville to flint to visit family for a few days.

I'm not worried about the comfort or physical ability of making the trip, more concerned with time. I've made this trip a few times in the car but wasn't sure how much longer it would take on the bike. Because of work I can't do two days travel in both directions. Prob only going to have 4 days total, but I really want to ride up.

One month after getting our bike, the wife and I rode down to San Angelo Texas from Tulsa. We left at 6:30 that morning, and pulled in there at 6pm that night. 508 miles. We took a lot of breaks due to both of us being pretty new to being back on a bike. Especially the wife. And the breaks got more frequent the further we went.

Turned around the next morning and rode back.

Most of our breaks we took were due to the heat. It was in the low 100s for most of that trip.
