Sounds like everyone has covered the best rides up that way...but if your gonna be in hot springs, find Rocky's pizza. Greatest Pizza this side of Chicago. Biker friendly also.

Thanks "LA"; living in the Tulsa area I'm always checking out places to ride. I've covered part of those routes during BBB-Q last year, just ran out of time.

I gotta say as I said before that is a good mapping, but not near all the great rides out of Russellville. South on 7 to 27 to the Mena - Mt. Ida area over to Hot Springs back up 5 to 9 to Morrillton is equally great. Morrillton to Mountain View on 9 up to Sylamore to 14 west on 14 to 341 then on in to Mountain Home is really good. 341 is an awesome little ride through there. 14 through the Buffalo river national park is totally fun. A person could easily spend 5-6 days riding in the Central West to Northwest and Northwest Central part of the state. We recently rode over Petite Jean, across to 22 up on Mt. Nemo and over to Mt. Magazine which are all State Parks which are equally great rides. Sorry you've only got 2 days, come back and see us when you get the chance.

Not sure if it's the same thing as the Arkansas Dragon, but we did what was called The Moonshine Run out of Harrison.

The most important thing to remember when riding in Arkansas is, if you hear banjo music, twist the throttle and get the hell out of there...

The northwest quarter of Arkansas is just full of good rides, puts it in my top 5 states to ride in, at least the ones I'm sure I've been in:

Two days isn't long, but if you happen to have a couple or four hours left in Russellville, and would like to fit in something short, you're less than an hour from Mt. Nebo (south on 7, right on 22 in Dardanelle, left on 155, and take it easy climbing Nebo so you don't drag the mufflers - take camera!). Petit Jean park is less than an hour, 7/28 south, left on county road 60 - easy to miss. Short ride, but you could spend all day looking around up on the mountain; used to be a pretty big old car museum, don't know if it's still there.

There's a place in Russellville I like to get lunch at, was still there a couple years ago, on the SE corner of 7/124, less than a mile south of 40, next to the college. Good place to see what young Arkansas ladies look like, too.

WARNING - From Hot Springs to Missouri you can hit a lot of great twisties, but I would really stress not overrunning your vision of the road ahead; some of those curves tighten up and going in at high speed can put you off the road before it straightens out - or into the back of someone hauling something at 15mph. I had a couple close ones before I learned not to play the racing game on those roads in my younger days. Just be sensible and you should have a great couple days there; bet you'll want to take a longer ride later.

Post an after ride on what you thought of it, always interesting to read what other folks think of a first ride on exceptional roads.

I live in the Northwest corner of Arkansas and the riding is some of the best in the country. In fact one of the motorcycle magazines had Arkansas listed as one of the top places to ride. You should also check the Bikes,Blues, and Barbecue website as we also have one of the best and largest rally's in the country at the end of September. Very family oriented and just a great time. Enjoy your time here and ride safe!

Keep your eyes peeled for arrowheads on your stops, we got lots of them in Arkansas, and the sharp pointy ones can cause flats.
