I have a 2011 FXDC that did not come with a factory security system. My question is should I get HD system or is there a after market brand that works just as good? Looking for somthing with the starter disconnect module so I can make a quick stop without getting my keys out all the time. What are you using?

 

mine has the HD one that works fine and great and I haven't looked for an aftermarket one..

for what you want, the hd one is probably the easiest solution. sure, there are others, but most of them are going to involve cutting/splicing and with the hd one, with the exception of the flash, its pretty much plug and play....

 

Look into LoJack... Not exactly what you are looking for, but it does offer a great piece of mind that with one phone call, your bike will alert the police to it's location. And to me that was worth every penny I paid for it.

 

I just had my HD security system disconnected on my '09. Started running into problems with the bike not starting. Security system recognized the fob but would not start. Manual override system would not work either. It's a sick feeling being stranded with a bike that won't start due to the security system. Dealership already changed a few bikes out with the same problem. Just a FYI.
