the time it takes you to drink it does, it also will hydrate you which in turn accually does help you stay alert, besides that if i would have hit a pothole i would have been a hood ornimate on walkers truck

i just had three beers in about a 2 hour time limit, i was fine cause i drank a couple of cups of water like i always do before i leave a bar,
Having a few cups of water doesn't do anything for your blood alcohol content or your coodination, only time will make you sober as your liver processes the alcohol. I'm not preaching, just be careful...

Not trying to totally hijack the thread, but your "time it takes to drink it" argument is only valid if you're nursing those waters over a period of two hours or so (judging by your avatar picture, as size, gender, and age have a lot to do with metabolism). And again, I'm not making any comment towards whether you were followed too closely or not, I'm only bringing up that drinking water after 3 beers doesn't make you fine to drive, a common misperception, but a misconception none the less.

I have been profiled as a biker, but (I can't understand why) I have never been profiled as a bodybuilder.

I can't decide which on this one, so let me throw it out to you people. Buddy of mine is a friggin huge guy, you've seen the types. No neck, big arms, upper body like an upside down christmas tree. He's also a biker. So he gets pulled over while riding because he didn't "come to a full stop" at a stop sign. So they get him off the bike and decide to search him and the bike for drugs because "they smelled smoke". This I firmly believe, he had been hanging out with us and we've got tons of smokers. So, was he being profiled for being a biker and they think he's got drugs. Or was he being profiled for being a large freaky looking guy and they were looking for steroids? Oh and they found **** because he didn't have a thing on em anyways. Got off with a warning. Opinions on this?
You got any pics of that bodybuilder? I'm a huge bodybuilder fan!

For everyone's edification, 3 beers in 1 hour will not put you over the legal limit. Each beer is about 25% (or .02) of the BAC limit. And each hour your body processes that amount. So in 2 hrs, the .06 would have been reduce to .02. Not even close to bustable.

And it IS only time that will allow BAC concentrations to return to 0 (or close to since the body produces some naturally).

Your buddies demeanor and attitude displayed after he was stopped could very well have been the reason for the "shake down" and not profiling.

As a former LEO, if someone throws alot of attitude in your face, you might look for ways to repay the favor.

I'm not sure you can put a finger on why you get pulled over. I used to drive a fairly nice sports car. I went from Englewood NJ to visit my sick uncle in Sloan Kettering. Traffic on the FDR was awful, so I got off and drove through Harlem. I believe I got pulled over (also for blowing a stop) because I was driving a nice car in Harlem - cops thinking is why would I be there except to get drugs?

The cops were gonna search my car - only thing that stopped them was that I carry a NYC courtesy badge from my uncle. If I didn't have that "he's ok" badge, I would have gotten searched. They weren't hearing my (true) story.

Moral is, you can just as easily get profiled for being too fancy for a neighborhood too. I'd bet it was the biker thing mainly. In a car, you could hide both scruf and big for the most part. Obviously big and biker can only be bad, right?

If the guy truly rolled through the STOP sign, then the Officer(s) were enforcing existing traffic laws by stopping him. The biker's attitude probably determined whether or not he was issued a ticket for the infraction.

On the other hand, the Officer stating that he/she "smelled smoke:" is pretty thin probable cause to do a search unless the rider volunteered for it to occur. What kind of smoke did he/she smell? Maybe the Officer was more precise when talking to the rider and meant "smoke", i.e, "weed", but that wasn't stated in the origenal post.

He was being profiled for being a "stop sign roller". If I got pulled over for rolling a stop sign and he found my laptop in my saddlebag, I couldclaim I was being "nerd profiled" and sue the police dept, the town andthe state.[8D][:@]If we all want to play the profile game, we could all come up with some nonsense.
