Put your RK next to a 65 FLH and you can definitely see the similarities between them. Old full dress bikes were referred to as King of the Road models. Think yours pays tribute to that era; MoCo just shifted the name a bit.

5 months and ~7,000 miles on mine and I'm completely in love with this bike. It isn't just great looking. It rides and handles great on all kinds of roads! It has a greater lean angle than the Heritage (which is lower to the ground) so it can corner tighter than the softail.

As between the RK and RKC, the RKC has the 103 plus ABS and security standard, so the difference in price is really made up with the costs of those options.

2 months and 3K miles and I've gotta say I like the Road King more than any other bike I've ever owned from Sportys to Softail Heritage. I anquished over getting another Heritage or the RKC and am very happy with my choice.

I really have to stop reading these RK threads.. Ive been obsessed, I mean dreaming.. um yeah, not obsessed I swear, with getting a roadking for weeks now.. Cant afford a pack of smokes, but In my mind, I already have it, customized it, and been cruising for weeks.. kinda sad really..

And Jeff, love the parotlett in your profile pic.. I actually got my Macaw from a bird store out in Jersey.
