Growing up (born in 78) i knew of the chopper, and that peter fonda was in it. I knew the movie was somehow symbolic of early riding, and harleys.
So when it came to getting a custom plate .. EZRYDR is what i got! I was so excited it was available!
Now last week I actually sat down and watched the movie. It has to be the worst movie I have ever seen?? Absolutely no plot, no story, terrible character building, etc.
At the very end when I saw a shotgun blast and then the credits rolled ... i was left there first wondering why i even watched the entire thing, and second how they could ever just end a movie like that
Can anyone explain it to me? Maybe I am too young and im missing something lol
PS, im not commenting on the terrible editing, because i understand it was 1969 and technology wasnt there yet. Im commenting strictly on the movie itself.
you have to be in the situation.....that is stoned!!! big time!!!!! hard!!!!!! don't care about anything stoned!!!!! then the movie is great!!!! Oh yea, you have to be 18, .....and stoned!!!! And a biker!!!!!!! maybe a drug dealer too,......and stoned!!!! get the point?
it did have a plot, it was running a load of H for money poorly done but that was the plot
so here's the question, since you got a custom plate in honor of a douschy movie, are you changing the plate or not?
HAH, that's what I was thinking. Somehow, I doubt it though. Regardless of how bad the movie was, references to it have always been basically "hardcore biker-ish". So, he can not like the movie and still be a bad-*** to the general public, IMO.
It's about a lot more than riding motorcycles. Here's what Wikipedia has to say about it:
"A landmark counterculture film, and a "touchstone for a generation" that "captured the national imagination," Easy Rider explores the societal landscape, issues, and tensions in the United States during the 1960s, such as the rise and fall of the hippie movement, drug use, and communal lifestyle. Easy Rider is famous for its use of real drugs in its portrayal of marijuana and other substances."
Perhaps you should speak with your mom or pop, or someone from their generation about it.

The first thing i said to myself was, i gotta change that stupid plate now!
I want to leave it, for the reasons you mentioned ... however, it is a constant reminder of that insanely ridiculous movie.
I dont think i ever regretted sitting through a full movie until now, ha!
