Sorry, I find it BS you have less buffeting on the Fatboy. Maybe disclose the day you were on the SG you had 40mph crosswinds?
If you say so.
No BS.
When I ride the Fatboy I get wind.
When I rode the SG I got buffeting. At 40 mph - 50 I heard this noise like a freight train and the Buffeting would shake my head around like some was hitting me with a baseball bat. If i moved my head lower some of it would go away but it was still there. Im 6'2" and the salesman said i would Need a taller curved shield. I'm quessing you don't know what buffeting is ?
BTW I'm not the only person that has buffeting problems on a Street Glide. Read this thread
Wait... Your in that thread. Street Glides are nice bikes but they are not for everyone I quess thats why I originally suggested to the op to test ride one 1st. FWIW, I ride with a FF Shoei so it's not that either.

Like it has been stated. There is a reason that Harley makes the touring bikes. If the new SGs come with lower farings then that is a huge plus, if not, consider adding them. Go with the SG that has 103CI engine, ABS brakes, and Cruise control. I think the package also includes a security system. If you and the wife want to do comfortable riding then definately get the touring bike. I'm partial to the ultras. I have a CVO and never looked back.
My 2 cents.

I used to ride a Deuce for years. Tried 2 different windshields due to buffeting. A backrest helped the "fight" as well.
Choosing a different bike because a different windshield wasn't tried out is pretty sad. It's only 3 bolts.
Well it's pretty obvious that wasn't the only reason. Good reason to suggest trying a different windshield, rather than discounting choosing that bike.
