Default Rode the Dragon...loved it.

What a blast. I don't thinks it's overated. We had a lot fun. Rode multiple times Thursday & Friday. Then enjoyed the Foot Hills Parkway, the ride into Gatlinburg. Highway 28 out if Bryson City was my favorite. The only thing we didn't get a chance to do was the Cherahola Skyway. I actually enjoyed watching the crotch rocket/super bikes crowds on the Dragon. Wow! The two days we were there, cars, trucks, Harley's & crotch rocket crowds observed good Dragon "etiquette". Been looking at pictures of ourselves online from the different camera crews positioned along the Dragon. A lot of the sport bike riders had the Go Pro camera mounted on their helmets. Couple Harley's had them mounted on the engine guards. We plan on taking one with us next trip. Motorcycle Heaven up there. I recommend staying at the MicroTel Inn & Suites in Bryson City. Staff was great, provided towels to clean the bikes, rooms clean & comfortable and "cheap" per say. Good place to stay if all you are there for is to ride. Well worth the trip for us!

next time you are in the area, go over to Bristol Tenn and ride the Snake US 421 to Mountain City Tenn 489 curves, very little traffic, car or bike and some curves are first gear you-can-see-your-front-and-back-tire sharp. Less traffic means more fun. WE rode it on Saturday and didn't meet 10 cars and fewer bikes.

Cherohala is good too and Moonshiner 28 is another good ride

I loved it also. Try the Gaunlet and the Cherohola too.

You're calling that area "Motorcycle Heaven" is dead on. I said the same thing when we rode there last year. I also feel the same way about the Dragon. It's a special and unique rode. Get back soon and ride the Cherahola Skyway, BRP, etc. You'll be glad you did.

This is a great area to ride. Been there several times, can't wait to go back. If you haven't taken 28 from Deal's Gap through Fontana Village and on down to Cherokee, give that a try. The Damn is very impressive and the road up to Fontana Village is great.

We did Hwy 28. Loved it. A couple staying at our hotel went and did The Snake and were telling us about it. Will have to do that one too. Can't wait to get back up there.
