I know a guy that has a 89 softtail with 126K miles and hasn't had any major problems with it.He does all the routine maintenance on it and does not run it hard.However he did have to replace the cam tensioners several times and replace a spring in the trans for the shifter.
For the amount of miles on this bike I think that should be a testimony that harleys are just as dependable as the metrics and a lot more fun to ride.
Hopefully my bike will be as dependable as his is.
