Default Great Bike Gear Softail Turn Signal Relocation kit

Does anyone have this thing?

I am trying to find out if drilling or cutting or wormholes are involved here. The people that answer their email were not overly helpful.

Doyou already have a laydown tag mount? Babs and I have done a lot of research on relocating the rear blinkers further aft, because we both added saddle bags. I ended up going with mini flush strut mount LEDs. Then I thought about adding my stock bullet lights back on to the bike also. But decided it wasn't needed. The best method I heard of ,was to get a couple of chrome or stainless steel L brackets 1"x1" attach one to the bottom bolt on each side of the back of the laydown tag mount. Drill a 5/16" hole in them for the extension tube shaft of the bullet lights to attach to. My laydown plate is almost touching my brake light housing. I would run the wires from behind the tag into the brake light housing. This keeps from having to drill a hole in the fender and you wouldn't see the wires. I thought I might have to file a relief in the brake housing. Just enough so the blinker wires weren't being pinched.
You can see in my photo album how close my tag sits to my brake light.

so... i asked the guy at easy brackets what the deal was... and he responded:

No there is no drilling into the fender. You will have to drill two 7/32 holes into the base of the lay down license plate mount (the square part that sits on the fender) to run the wires from underneath the fender (there are predrilled holes in the fender below the license plate mount) so you can run the wires out to the turnsignals. Thats all the drilling you will have to do.
Still not sure this is something I want to tackle anytime soon. I cannot really visualize this and pix would be awesome... but I cannot seem to find any.

They said that there are pre drilled holes under the license plate mount?
It is fairly easy to look up inside the rear fender, from the very back of the motorcycle and see if there are any pre drilled holes in the fender in the center of the tag mount bolt pattern. Check it out.
I think he has it backwards. If the laydown tag mount is setup for relocating your rear signals to it, the mount will have a hole in the center of it to rout the wires. You will have to drill the hole in the fender to further rout thewires to the tail light housing. This is what Babs did if you look up his postings.
It is really no big deal to drill a hole into the fender,in the center of the license plate mount bolt pattern.
this holewill always be covered by the tag mount.I will attach a picture showing the signal wires coming into the brake light housing and where they plug in.

I just sent him another email asking for clarification.

Apparently the only drilling that i have to do is to the Drag Specialites laydown bracket. That I am okay with. As for the predrilled holes... The only ones that I know of on the fender are the three holding the current license plate bracket on. I would assume that bracket would use those same holes. Or is it possible the laydown bracket only uses two and that leaves the third one open for running this wire.

The thing is... The people at foxleather have been awesome about my million and one questions. And Dave at EasyBrackets has been just as patient and helpful. Both those companies will get my business because they have been so cool without me even dropping a dime into their bank accounts.

great bike gear on the other hand... they need to learn a thing or two from these guys.

IF I get this thing rest assured that I will be photo documenting the whole dang install... hell... I may even video tape it. Cussing and all!
