Default Softail 2018 side mount licence plate

Do any of you that have bought a new 2018 softail want to change your side mount plate holders for something else?

I am in the UK and for the new Fat Bob we get a hideous Ducati style centre mounted plate holder on a giant bracket attached to the ends of the swing arm and sitting over the rear wheel. I want to clean up the rear end, so am looking for one of the US style black side mount plate holders that hang off the left rear turn signal.

Anyway - if anyone is taking one of these off, please let me know....

I've looked for other solutions, but can't really find what I want. Most of them have a great big stop light attached, or only have big mount holes for axle mounting.

Best case, I want something very simple that can attach to the bolt holes at the end of the 2018 swing arm, but preferably not to the axle itself. Doesn't have to have any kind of light as I can always use an LED bolt for illumination. I also can't use a mount with a frame for a plate, as these are all set up for 4" x 7" US plates and I need to accommodate at minimum a 5" x 7" plate - maybe bigger to be technically legal, so i need a skeleton type mount like the HD one that will accommodate different size plates.

Looks like DK has nearly what I want, but thought I'd ask here to see if anyone is taking off the US OEM plate holder first.....

Worst case, I will have to fab and powder coat something myself.

Thanks in advance!

Sadly not. That's a turn signal relocation kit to move the turn signals back a few inches. Doesn't come with the plate holder itself.

What I want is the actual licence plate mount assembly, the LED light assembly, the arm that goes from the plate mount to the turn signal mount, and also the shortened turn signal shroud that goes with it.

:-) Kind of.....

I've been looking at that parts fiche for the last month. I know more about the 2018 parts than my local dealer does!

The part there listed as #16 is the plate holder itself (67900364) and looks identical to the one for the Fat Bob (67900448) - but it only shows the plate holder itself. The two key parts that are missing are the arm that goes from that plate holder to the turn signal mount, and the shorter turn signal shroud used to compensate for the thickness of the plate mount arm. They may be included in the kit - but there's absolutely no mention of it, and I can't find the part numbers for those 2 parts anywhere....

Sorry - that's a bit of a long winded way of saying it.

Delete - you found it already

Although, 67800199 will be the shorter turn signal support mount

It's there, it's part of the #16 assembly. There are no part numbers for them by themselves. Zoom in on the picture, the piece you're looking for is there right above the lamp housing.

ah, if you zoom right in you mean, you can work out that the assembly DOES include the drop mounting arm ...it's just that the perspective of the drawing doesn't show it to be as long as in real life, from a different angle

so all you would need is 67900448 and 67800199

Thanks for that - you are spot on. It does show the part that connects to the turn signal mount if you zoom in.

But not the shortened shroud that you'll also need. Although I think I have that now from the Fat Bob rear turn signals page. Part number 67800189 "Support rear lamp mounting, left side only, california/domestic." I think that must be the short shroud - although it costs $3 more than the longer, standard version for some reason. That's HD fr you....

Anyway - is anyone contemplating taking this lot off their bike and replacing it with something more elegant?

I had taken mine off to install a axle mounted plate holder. Just threw away the old stock plate holder with the short blinker mount. I will see if I still have it. I cut the wires at the light, so you will have to rewire it. if I find all the parts, would you be interested?
