Default Special HD Financing

I was strolling around the stealership yesterday just checking out the new styles and one of the salesmen mentioned that HDwas offering 3.9% for 48 months and 4.9% for 60. By motorcycle standards, that is pretty good money! Funny thing is, I cant find that promo anywhere on the HD site to back that info up.

Anyone else hear about those % points?

Don't know about how HD dealers work, but auto dealers typically work with local lenders to give the best rates. That might be the case there.

My credit union has 4.99% for 7 years. Check around, then if you're buying a bike, ask what they're finance rate is. They will give you a percentage. Then you say, "My credit union is 4.99%." I can almost guarantee they will then counter with a lower percentage rate as long as you actually qualify for the lower rate.

3.9 is a crap rate. Our dealer offered us that and we went off to our local credit union and scored a 2.7 APR for 60 months.

The typical rate if u have good credit around here is 4.99. If u have a good down normally the credit rate around here is 3 something. We all know the game, money down and that credit score is key. Your location has a lot to do with it too. As for HD and there special rate is take it in the ____. Fill in the blank......

Unless they are discounting significantly because you finance through the dealer, look for a credit union. Mine was 1.9 for 36, 2.4 for 48, and 2.9 for 60. Boswells in Nashville was running 1.9 for 60 months in late winter/early spring. Better rates can be had.

For a dealership that is not a bad rate. They probably know they are losing too much money in that market and are reacting. They will get people to bite who don't want to shop around or who may not have a better choice.

I like my home equity line of credit. Currently at 2%.
