Go to your local credit union, much better rates. Currently my credit union is offering 2.99%.

Me too. Got 1.49% out to 72 months with my CU. Thats for an 80% loan with direct withdrawal from my account (that offered a 0.5% discount).

HD's rate will vary to "their" good - always. Take the advice fm above - get to a CU, or bank.

Sale reps get bonus from getting you to finance and the higher the rate the better for them. If you must go with HD push you dealer to get you a better rate or go elsewhere for the loan.

Bought a 2011 FLSTC in June of last year. Financed through Harley Davidson at 2.99%. No complaints with them at all.

Dealers make money when you finance through them. Some dealers add a few points onto the rate for pure profit, others don't.
As has been said, go through your credit union.
