I would get it whether or not you work on them your self. All the Mechanics from the dealers that know EVO's have long since left and opened their own shops. You are going to love a carbed Big Twin if you have never had one.
thank you for all your replies and good advices, guys!
I know better what to check out now when i get there: springer, seals..
No, i can not work on it myself but it guess the EVO will not bring me into a lot of technical trouble..
Before i purchased my '07 fxstc, i rode a 1991 Dyna Sturgis for 2 years; loved it very much ..but then the moco brought the FXSTC to life again, the bike i've been always dreaming of, and so i bought it.. but i miss the EVO with its great sound!
..and back in the 90's, i rode a '76 FXE for 7 years...she didn't like to come home with me many times... lol
Sold the bike in my sig with 90000 miles on it and it was running great. Had a 88' Springer, was an awesome bike, but it would shake you pretty bad at around 70 mph. Those old EVO's are rock solid except for some lifter problems.
Oh, what a disappointment! I called the owner today and it turns out the ad is from 3 years ago...
Very hard now to put this 1995 bad boy out of my head...

Anyway,
I'll keep your advices in my mind, and hope i might use them same day in the future..
I am sure Twin Cams are great bikes, but the simplicity of the EVO is really nice. I bought my 99 Softail Custom over 3 years ago with 17,000 on it. It now has 34,000 and runs great. EVO,s just make the bike so much fun to ride.

I got stupid lucky with mine. Guy had it ('96 Low Rider) listed for $6k, I asked for additional photos and asked how much flex he had. When I told him I wanted to spend $4500, I figured he'd laugh, but he said come up and look and we'll talk. Got it for around $5100. 11k miles. I LOVE it.
