I like trying stuff on because I'm between large or XL so the internet is kinda out. The non-HD dealers around are all loud jap stuff, and my HD girl was going to give me an F.D. discount. So, I just wanted to know if it was quality stuff. I think I'm going to get it and I'll let everyone know how it works out on the road. Thanks!
Langlitz is great and expensive. Schott is good. Fox Creek is good and the HD stuff is pretty good to. I've had a HD jacket for about 12 years now and it still looks great. Before that I had a Schott and honestly, the HD jacket is about as good and didn't cost any more. My old jacket was about 25 when I stopped wearing it. A wreck did a real good number on the back and sleeves of the jacket and saved my skin. Prior to the wreck it had some creases and what not, but overall it still was a really good looking jacket and had a lot of life left in it. Then it gave up it's hide to save mine.
I have HD and non-HD jacket, none of which have logos and advertisements plastered on them. I went down in the HD leather jacket, skidded across the pavement and it did its job. I cant speak for all HD jackets but at least that jacket was quality. I look for heavyweight, good stitching and solid seams no matter what brand.
The HD jackets now days are good, despite being made overseas. They have to meet the MOCOs standards. But they aren't anything like the jackets from the 70's. Their cycle champ jacket lasted me 40 some years until it finally shrunk too much. I believe it was made out of horse hide too. Horse hide jackets now days are in the 600-800 dollar range, but is the best riding gear available for keeping you warm and protected from road rash. My .02 cents.
If your buying leather look for perforated or slightly perforated leather as it will be more comfortable. A perforated jacket can be made warmer with a zip in wind blocking liner or insulated liner but a non perforated jacket cannot be made cooler. Also make sure it has CE armor in the shoulders, elbows and back and is 1.3mm+ thick leather if you want it for protection.

this caught my interest. It was not too long ago people were putting down MotoCo clothes...esp leather jackets. I went to one dealer and this summer they had a rack with many discounts. unfortunately...I am M...a common size among men. Heck used to have a belly but its gone <gasp> much to the delight of the wife!
so at the dealer they have a back leather jacket with a off white leather running cross the chest and a Harley Davidson on this white. Looked pretty good. Arms had zippers and the bottom sides had the stretch grooves. The collar were of the racer type and the tag shows Racer in it. I think the tag had it is $325 but with 25% off it seem a decent deal considering I can get a Pakistan leather for $180 in a western shop. The size M is what I am not sure of...I am not sure if L will be too big for me but the M fits me perfect and not too lose.
Question I have is does MotoCo leather stretch even a little after much use? I know normal leather products stretch a little...boots and regular shoes do stretch. Not sure if Harley leather do stretch. (At another they have a sign up that says all Leather Jackets have 5 year warranty) so I asked this dealership if this jacket was a 5 year warranty and he said he talked to the owner and owner says yeah. But tag on the jacket says one year. Anyone have issues with problems returns?
Have not been back to the shop in 4 weeks so I may go check.
