I don't know about the ordinances. I don't know if cops will stop someone for a loud bike. I suppose if it is seriously loud it will happen.

I don't want loud pipes but am not knocking anyone's choices. The only thing I don't like about the pipes is if someone is doing it just to be obnoxious. Or at night. There is a guy in my complex who rides a nice CVO Harley but it has some seriously modded pipes that sound like someone put a brick of M-80's inside the exhaust. That is fine on the highway but he rides up the lot at night and revs the **** out of the bike every time. He is not a hardcore type either. Seems a bit like a poser type many people talk about.

I also find it a bit annoying if someone stops at a red light next to me and feels the need to rev the living sh*t out of the motor. Yeah, I admit it is cool sounding but when stuff like this happens it just becomes annoying after the first burst or two. Why keep revving the sh*t out of it?

As far as loud pipes being a safety issue, I can buy that in some circumstances while riding but to be candid, I think people just get them because they like the sound and don't think saety is the primary concern. And there is nothing at all wrong with that. It is all personal choice and preferences. I can buy the argument that being louder might give you an advantage in some situations in traffic but I can't buy the argument that it is the real reason that people get them.

I'm tempted to try some aftermarket pipes, but this one reason is making me stay with stock ...
I keep my stock pipes stored in my garage so can always switch back if it ever becomes an issue, but I definitely don't lose any sleep over it.

Some people want a custom car, some people want a mini-van. Whatever makes you get on it and go!

Sorry but I have to disagree, I hated the loud pipes and went back. I like to be able to hot rod around without the extra attention.

A good tune will help the heat issue and I'd be interested in seeing a side by side comparison of the same bike from stock to piped. Would be interesting to see the real numbers.

It isn't called the Stealer by mistake. I rarely if ever go near the place. Thank God for Internet commerce!

Hi,

same here ackman,

I would be interested to see the numbers on just "tuning" the stock bike,

Is a powervision a good move just for a stock bike to make it run better or is a dyno-tune thats required

thanks
