Frogg togg makes many diffrent styles of rain suits for diffrent purposes .
I if you buy there really basic $20 suit ment for a hunting blind you will have trouble on a bike .
They make 3 or 4 suits spacificaly for motorcycle riding from $52 to $150
the cheaper ones you have to use the $6 heat shild kit . to protect the leg that might get burned .
some guys used the fabric from a cheapo ironing board cover to make a heat sheild .
i have the Froog Togg RoadToad suit . i made my own heat sheild with a large patch of leather i cut from an old leather coat i bought at a thrift store for $5 . i gave the patch a new coat of black dye and a coat of sboSeal weather proof .
i stay dry !
It's a nice light weight breatable suit for a thrifty price .
When it comes to "gear", no matter what you are doing, hiking, skiing, camping, riding, whatever, never go cheap on gear.
I have 2 pairs of The North Face Gore-tex rain pants, boot gaiters, suspenders and kevlar kickpatches that are meant to protect from crampons. but are placed perfectly inside the leg/ankle to prevent any melting on the exhaust.

Perhaps that's the difference here. I got Frogg Toggs specifically for riding, and they have never leaked. I did melt the pants on the exhaust, a boot level, but I just slapped some duct tape over the hole. LOL... fashion statement was not a goal.
First time my wife suited up with her Frogg Toggs, the front zipper broke. Fortunately, it was a light drizzle on a short ride. I think I paid $60 for it. For about $140, I got her some Harley gear to replace it and it is awesome. One of a few Harley branded products that I think are a good value. She used it pretty much every day on a 6 day ride through Utah, including some pretty good rain, without a single problem with it.
I will be replacing my gear with Harley's rain gear next.
My head light burnt out,, I ain't paying the $18.oo for a new one when I can buy a LED flashlight for $3.99 and (RED/GREEN) that suckar on with duck tape.
Moral... Right tool for the job, and Usually U get what U pay for...
Never tried the Toggs, but have considered it to save space.
The wife and I were gifted a set of HD rain suits and they work great but, take up a lot of room in the bag. So while the right tool for the job is right, space considerations play a part too especially if your not riding a bagger.

Where have you been man? There are plenty of websites that tell you how to heat protect your toggs. You should know they will melt, that has been posted forever. They weren't made for riding at high speeds. Dont blame a good product for you being to cheap to buy a product fit for purpose. I spent my money on the HD high vis rain suit and it is excellent, but about 3times the price of toggs. ***** toggs for 2 years and never had any leaking issues, but 3 hrs in the rain i wasn't exactly dry. I didn't blame the product, i instead bought the correct product.
