torque bolts to 20ft pounds(book calls for 17) mark bolt with a scratch or marker then put a scratch 90 degrees clockwise on head..tighten bolts to align marks. there are 2 short bolts(actually caps) 2 long. short on sparkplug side, long under rocker covers. start at short bolt on intake side of head and tighten short bolts first, intake side of head, tighten long bolts. when you take bolt down for last turn after torque down, take half the 90 degrees on each bolt in the sequence then take up the rest on final turn
