chrome switch housing problems

Default chrome switch housing problems
hi i have a 2005 wide glide and i bought hd chrome switch housings and after i installed them the start and run switch wont work. can anybody help in this

If you bought the cheap ones off of ebay they may have some casting flash inside of them. This stuff is like a razor and will cut into the insulation causing a short.

no there HD switch housing everything looks ok. is there anyway i could have trip the security system

Can you say, pinched wires? Sounds like you munged it.

I'd pop the top back off and look for pinched wire/s.
If that's what is was found, I'd cut and solder using shrink wrap.

They are a snug fit with very little to no slack on the wiring. You might have caught a wire under the screw/clamp meant to route and hold the wires in the upper housing.

VERY EASY to pinch a wire inside the housing.. Check that first.

It's easier to change cams than those fuking switch housings. Have fun................again.
