Someone was watching your back. Hardly ever hear of someone staying upright when hitting a deer. Squirrels and cats (poor squirrels), yes. Anything larger, not very often.
Here in Japan, you gotta keep an eye out for big ol' monkeys.

If you hit one, can you take it home and eat it? Not being flip here, in Wi, USA, we can take home the carcass. If you can, is it good eating? I'm serious here, with food prices going up and the cost to repair your car, just curious.
not sure about anywhere else but in alabama you can take deer you hit. and yes it is very good eating. my family kills about 6 deer a season and we eat every bit of it.
and for the OP, glad you are ok. deer can cause serious damage to vehicles and people in and on them.
one tip for riders...if you see a deer crossing the road, slow down because there is probably two or three more about to come out and cross too.
Glad that you came out ok, we just had a local rider die swerving to miss a deer and ended up running off the road into a deep ditch. We have a high deer pop here in Mo.
How the heck do you stay up for that? I hit one broad side too. Went straight to the pavement. Got help picking up my bike and road home. Pulling the clutch in Hurt like hell. I reached up and felt my collar bone sticking out. That was the worse of the damage to me. I felt lucky about the encounter with just that. You very lucky.
I would really check my bike out, if I were you. It's hard to believe there was no damage. Double check your seat and make sure there is no "PUCKER" damage to your seat cover!
You are lucky to come thru that type of situation uninjured!
Glad your OK
