JVC Marshmellows work great but I have a Sena bluetooth that I use now. No wires. Much finer. Can mute it and control all the functions of the I-phone with the touch of a button. Legal issues vary from state to state with earbuds.
I have the new LG tone HB 700. Works fantastic! No wires and you can control the music from the HB 700. About $48 on Amazon.com. The charge last up to 10 hours and sound quality is real good.
I use them only when on long rides. Sirius sat radio mounted on my bike and my Zen MP3 player tuned to the station. As was mentioned earlier, I always turn it down to enable me to hear what's going on around me when into heavier traffic. FF helmets conceal everything from the Law.
Beats by Dr Dre!

Who is monitoring the volume in vehicles?
When I have my headphones in I can still hear all but wind,,,which is what really bugs my ears
No restrictions in Michigan. i too use skullcandy and my android phone to stream either the local radio station, pandora, or my music depending on my mood. There are apps that allow you to program the single button type headphones for basic operations, pause, ff, volume etc.
