Anyone do this? My friend just said his dad wears them while riding. I had thought about it before, but thought you would probably have to crank it so loud just to hear it that it would be TOO loud. Plus, I'm not sure if it's legal (in michigan).
I use ear buds and my IPOD on longer rides. Some songs I can't hear everything but for the most part, I can hear the music fine. Sometimes, I will pause the music when going through a town so I'm certain to hear everything around me.
ear buds on long trips like the one i took to sturgis. the JVC marshmellow ones have memory foam ear inserts that work really well especially when u count the fact that you can get them for $20 at wally world
There are several brands that have noise reduction ear buds and noise cancellation ear buds.
I use the ones from Apple because they have the iPod controls built in. http://store.apple.com/us/product/MA...d-mic?fnode=75
There are other brands that have this also and I tried a few of them but didn't like them.
My experience is that the heavier ones (made from aluminum) were more susceptible to having the wind blow them out of my ears. However, your mileage may vary.

I do it all the time. I used to use Skull Candy ear buds but now I use Ultimate Ears by Logitech. They are vastly superior to the Skull Candy. I have a RAM mount on my handlebars that holds my iPhone (in otterbox) and I stream my XM radio or iTunes.
