Mini...dude...stop. As many have pointed out, you don't have a clue what you're talking about. Give it a rest.
Try to remember Mark Twain's famous quote "It is better to have people think you a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."
Peace
But that's not a reply. It is simply a statement that I am a fool. You are not telling me why, just repeating what someone else said to try to get their attention or respect--like everyone else is. I noticed since TZ said he was a 1%, everyone else jumped on the bandwagon with the 'Better not mess with me either, I am 1%' stuff. Then everyone started repeating everything he said to try to act like they are also 'in the know' about these things. Again, it's the internet. There are more followers and groupies than original thinkers. I don't know you and you don't now me from the guy next door.
It doesn't matter if I am seen as the fool nor does it matter if you are seen as a 1%. I have never seen more posing and posturing than I do on cycle forums. It's like watching an episode of lockup raw. If everyone would just stop trying to act all bada$$ and actually drop the personas and stuff and discuss the topics instead of trying to impress total strangers, people might actually have a productive discussion without all the juvenile posturing and stuff.
If you want to call me a fool, fine. That very well could be. I do not take offense. I also don't doubt TZ is what he says. But at least tell me why, in your own words, without repeating what TZ said just to gain some 'cred' points with him and the forum. Be yourself. Think for yourself. Do not get caught up in the herd. Quoting Mark twain is not telling me why I am a fool. Nor is saying I have no clue.

Holy 2 pgs of bat ****... I think I have my answer lol.. And Mini... I think you might have started out with good intentions, but from the 1st post you made, its kinda went downhill... I do believe in the whole "wrong place wrong time" and with your outlook on things I can only imagine its a matter of time before you see the true definition of that...
Would you encourage someone to wear a Swastika openly NYC? A KKK hood in South Central LA? A Westboro Baptist t-shirt to a 4th of July parade? A Yankee hat in Boston? A Jane Fonda support shirt at a Viet Nam veterans rally?
I too believe we can wear anything we want. I also believe someone will challenge you about it and you best be very very prepared to defend that decision. A total lack of street smarts is not just missing in you but in several others here. You can cry "freedom and liberty" all you want when a street gang in Chicago decides you have offended them.
Your friend is running or wants to run a 3-pc patch that HD would probably stick on a vest anyway. I can't see anyone having a problem with that. Though I don't hang out with any 1% clubs.
I do have a cousin that rides with a 1% club on the East Coast. We are very close. All I can say about 1% clubs (speaking with my cousin in mind) is that they are a tight group of like minded guys that look out for each other. My cuz is one bad *** **** and being around him most of my life he's proved to be a stand up guy with a big heart for the people he loves but he is one crazy ****er if you get him mad. Yeah he's done some bad **** in his life but I've been right next to him on many of those occasions. The club he is in is really protective of their members and their members families. I think that's great and if I lived back East still I'd most likely want to be a part of it if they'd have me. Just because you are in one of these clubs doesn't make you a criminal. Though it doesn't make you a saint either lol

The false assumption here is that I go to biker bars, hang out in areas that gangs frequent, put patches on my jacket, or go to events. My only interaction with other riders is seeing them on the road. I just mind my own business. I have fun, I ride my bike, go home. I rarely if ever see anyone with colors, even when riding the highway. If I did, its not like I am stopping to chat. I do not wear leather or patches of any kind. Nor do I dress like a biker. I am not trying to look the part. I wear a flourescent green neon safety vest, white FF helmet, red suzuki jacket, gray riding pants. I am the last person to be seen wearing a patch or such item of any kind.
I was responding to the OP and then all the people getting all bent out of shape as a result.

Fair enough I guess, I will say just because you don't encounter certain people on your commutes, doesn't mean that they don't exist... You cant **** on someones way of life or their beliefs and not expect a rise outta them...
if you think they don't notice a vest on the road you are mistaken. I was once approached about my vest by 3 guys from a dominant club. Lucky for me it was just a "Fallen Heroes" veterans patch. They shook my hand and said thanks, then they where on their way.
