A lot depends on your driving beavior. If tou do a lot of "hole shots" or high revin' bangin' the gears; Your primary tentioner is going to wear faster.
I just changed mine w' 130K + Mi. on it , and it wasn't worn bad at all! probably could have waited another 15-20K. Just did it for grins 'n giggles, It's not a difficult task.

Check the primary and cam tensioners every 25k. The tensioners are plastic and you don't want any of it breaking off and jacking up your engine. Personally when I pull my primary case off to inspect the tensioner at 25k I plan to replace it with one that doesn't put strain on the bearings.......that's just me but I always side with caution. Just in case your wonder what I plan to replace it with, I'll show ya:
