Been thinking about a new shift peg, wore the rubber off the old one, and its starting to wear on my boot. So I go to looking on ebay and else where and there is everything from six dollar ones to darn near hundred dollar ones, and probably over fifty to choose from.
Saw some Avon air cushion shift pegs for like thirty something that would fit the bill, but the plain old rubber coated six dollar ones would do just fine as well.
Anyway, I'm wondering what are you using, what do you like about it and why, and what would you recommend if a connoisseur of finer shift pegs.
Picked up a used but like new stock toe shifter today for five bucks, tax included. Apparently a lot of people switch these stockers out for something else, not sure if I'm going to like it or not, and I still got my eyes on those Avon Air Cushion shift pegs.
In the past I used a neoprene shifter sock/ cover.
Had a tactile feel, reduced toe blisters (yes racing), and reduced boot scuffs. The tactile feel was outstanding and although maybe not visually great, function was high.
There are too many choices...boils down to what you like and want.
Perhaps going as far as matching the style to your foot pegs and brake pedal.
I went with the Willie G. Skull motif. Besides liking the looks it actually solved another issue for me in that you can adjust the angle of the shifter and that allowed me to get more room between my boot and the peg and made it easier to shift.

Wow, I love the shift sock idea, and I had never heard of them before. I could just slip one of those rascals over my old peg, or my new used one I just got, excellent idea, and cheep enough too.
I like the Willie G but this Avon just keeps calling my name for some reason, here is a picture of one, anyone got any experience with them.
Any any other thoughts or experiences on shifter pegs continues to be welcomed.

I have Avon grips on my bike and they make a top quality product and stand behind it. Plus, they make it all right here in the USA. Can't say the same for the Harley shifter pegs.
