My painter found this stuck to the bottom of my tank. The circular part is a magnet and there appears to be an RFID tag imbedded.
No one at the dealership has any clue.
I'm guessing it's a factory tracking device used for tracking assembly line processes.
It was painted the color of the bike and the area under the magnet was primed not painted.
Just to make sure I would check local security firms and see if they recognize it from a customer--------------------a freq counter to see if its still operational as well should be used.It could be as simple as one used in the manufacturing process or as complex as your oldladie watching you. When my oldest was in HS he had a kid give him a bunch of stuff he claimed he didn't like and one was a athletic bag,it had one in it that was operational. It was found when my house got swept by a clubmemebr friend after I had some issues--------------------------------If it was me I would be nervous and get someone to check everything I owned for activity .You can pass it off as part of the manufacturing process
It doesn't appear to have a transmitter - I checked the various 'spy shop' stuff and all are a considerably bulkier than this - if there's no USB port on it (doesn't appear to be) you can pretty much rule out passive GPS. It does look like it's probably a NFC or RFID device of some sort - if it's for tracking. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

The RFID part I d not understand but the 1st thing I thought of my friend is if any iron filings or similar gets into the tank, it will be attached to the magent an dnot get into ur fuel system.
