I went by and took a look at the bike on friday and snapped some pictures. Bike looked very good. Started right up. Was serviced regularly. Has a few custom touches to it. Forward controls, diamond cut engine, crash bar with lights. I asked if he still has the fairing, as its not on the bike and he thinks he does but hes not sure of the condition. (wasnt his bike, it was left to him after the owner passed.) He thinks it is scratched up a bit but hell have it for me to look at next time i come look, probably this week. The saddlebags werent in the best condition, looks like a few of the logos were torn off. I tried to attach the pictures but only a few of them actually uploaded.

FYI, those aren't the original saddle bags. However, I wouldn't worry too much about having the oem bags. That bike has been modified so much that it would be cost prohibitive to try to return it to its original FXDXT condition. FXDXTs are bringing a premium but I would consider this one just a 2001 Dyna.
I kind of had a feeling those weren't the saddlebags everyone was raving about, didn't seem like anything special to me. Thank you for clearing that up much appreciated, hopefully that will help me in getting the price down.
Don't worry too much about those teeny-tiny bags. They were never worth the extra money anyway. And it'll be easy to loose that crash-bar along with those hideous highway pegs. Never seen them next to forward controls before - pretty geeky. After that the bike will be near stock except for the fairing.
I have all of my replaced wrinkle black parts - if you need something PM me and I'll see if I have what you need.
I bought a 04 FXDI with 4100 mile's on it for $8500. so Ithink $ 5500. is rite in the ballpark . After i bought it Ifound that there were a couple thing i didn't like about it first thing was the color it was that cobolt blue hert my eye's had it painted #2 was it had a narrow glide front end on it switched that out to a wideglide front end with a 21 inch laced front wheel so now i like it a lot but i geuss i really won't be satisfied until a get the FLHX in my garage that's just me ! I got it the begining of last season really looking forward to this rideing season as far as the power train goe's I haven't had any problems
I've got an 04 FXDI with 5753 miles on it listed right now in the motorcycles for sale forum for 7500.00, excellent bike, garage kept and its in like new condition. If anyone knows someone looking for one send them my way.
