I was bashed by a guy from the UK about my Nissan. Crap car, bad assembled, rustbucket , jap ****. I let him go for a while; his friends agreed with him. And then I asked him where the car was made.
he: japan, isn't it ?
me: if Sunderland is in Japan then it is, but as far as I know it is in the UK. And frankly yes; if I knew it was made in the UK and not in Japan I wouldn't have bought it.
For $20 you can buy a real nice looking, complete spoked wheel like DNA etc. yes, Made In China and you have to buy at least 10. You might get lucky and it is straight, but I won't chance it if at all possible. ON my 18" wheel build I used an old '84 HD hub and an old german steel rim. Some of this China stuff doesn't even line up! That is Scary when you're talking bike parts. YOu all know how this **** will look when it gets old.
I ALWAYS TRY TO BUY AMERICAN MADE FIRST AND I TRY HARD! THAT'S WHAT KEEPS AMERICA GOING, THE MONEY GOES ROUND AND ROUND IN OUR SYSTEM. My second choice is imported, BUT ONLY FROM COUNTRYS WHERE THE TRADE GOES ROUGHLY BOTH WAYS AND THEY DON'T HATE AMERICA. THIS IS MANDATORY FOR MY HARD EARNED DOLLARS!!!! NOT OPTIONAL...EVER! As a second choice, Taiwan is our friend and the trade does go both ways.
American quality....ever drove a GM made in the late 1970's?
20/20 did a hidden camera and caught the workers at a Chrysler plant smoking pot and getting drunk on morning break.
My 1999 Saturn was buring oil at 30,000 miles, when I took it in on warranty, Saturn told me it wasn't burining enough oil to warrant fixing it.
So, GM and Chrysler lost my business for good. I speak for alot of others. If you are an American Autoworker and want to keep your livelihood, then every single damn day, you need to do your BEST and give 100%, or it is going to bite you in the ***.
....no thanks. I'll take quality parts, and don't care where they are built. Americans are lazy and spoiled and take everything for granted.
Soon enough.....our come-uppance will be upon us. "Good enough" doesn't cut it when you wnat MY BUSINESS AND MONEY.
Equating Taiwan and "charlie".......Education is priceless, but it might do some good to read a book and get out a bit. Frankly it's embarassing to read such stupidity....no wonder other countries see us as a bunch of dumbshits.
